Elderflower Cava Sangria
Lately I’ve been very interested to create different drinks for summer parties. I’m going to arrange some nice yard parties during next summer and spent the rest of the time in our secret beach. Sounds like a plan? This time I got a little drink challenge from my local coffee and tea shop Mandragora. They wished that I’d create some nice drinks by using Teapigs matcha drinks (which are super lovely products!). It was easy to say yes.
I started to think what ingredients I love the most and what would fit into summer time too. That is how this fresh, beautiful and tasty white sangria was born. Pinky summer drink is perfect for hot summer days whether you were at the parties or at the beach.
I’ve used quite long time Teapigs tea. Taste is always pure and delicious. Now these normal teas have had a friend: ready matcha drinks. Just open the bottle and enjoy! There’s three different flavours: grape, apple and elderflower.
Every Teapigs matcha drink is sweetened with fruit concentrates so there’s no added sugar. Recipe is very simple: spring water, fruit concentrate and matcha powder. So simple and so good! These drinks are delicious just like that, but also in a different bunches and tripples.
Elderflower Cava Sangria is lovely bubbling, but not too sweet and lightly, but not boring. It is mix of lightness of summer days, freshness and the taste contains perfect combination of herbs and flowers. So my dear camrates, here’s my ode to summer:
ELDERFLOWER CAVA SANGRIA
10 portions (á ¾ cup)
free from gluten, grains, dairy, soy and sugar
1 kg watermelon
2 can Teapigs Elderflower Matcha Drink
½ liters bubbling water
½ bottle (= 1 + ½ cup) semi-dry cava
FOR DECORATING
icy and fresh boysen berries
few rosemary branches
ice cubes
Peel the watermelon and cut into pieces. Weigh right amount of watermelon and add into a blender can. Mix until smooth. Take a big bowl and measure there watermelon juice, cava, bubbling water and Teapigs Matcha Drinks. Mix lightly and take extra fowma away with big spoon. Measure into glasses and decorate with rosemary branch and boysen berries.
